Some newer vibes while I got absolutely no serious work done for the last couple of hours. The way Damian points at her around 00:44... yep! Gold. And the special guest appearance at the end... wait and see 😉
Bit of coding... pinch of site updates... and... stuff
The coding bit
Some more work completed on program building and linking that with UI on desktop. The work here is progressing pretty well actually. It just seems like it's slow sometimes because there's so much of it to do. Otherwise, I think it's moving along pretty well tbh.
There are some bits and pieces that I might upload to GitHub later this week just as general examples. Generally though, all good on the coding front.
Linux Server
I think I'm going to try and install the Linux Server initially on a test SSD within my current system. I have a spare somewhere that I can use just while I learn the basics. This part isn't a huge priority but I want to be able to play with the system when I get the spare time. Plus it would help to have the system installed and running when I do the course I mentioned before.
I already have an Ubuntu desktop installation that I can do some testing on, as well as the Windows machine.
MySQL Server
Assuming all goes well with my Linux setup and initial testing, that should then be followed by a MySQL server install. This is being trialled as an alternative to MS SQL Server for a few reasons, with security being a major one. Although there are fixes to the MS system's weaknesses, there seem to be more points that have to be treated. Since I'm not in a major rush for this, I can afford to do some general testing on all the different options (and there are a few more to try later on too).
