Cyber Everything 😆
More great tracks to help us all focus on whatever matters most at the right time... in the right way.
Hope you enjoy this cyber focus theme, and let's see the progress with Unity...
Unity UI Generator vs Custom
So I have two options for developing UI with Unity, one simple and one more complex (but with benefits). The simple way would be to use the in-built UI generator and default items incorporated into Unity and used to build the usual menu screens that you might see in games. This method allows custom backgrounds and imagery but the actual UI elements themselves are fairly limited visually.
The alternative that I've found so far is to build the UI elements themselves as 3D objects in something like Blender, export them to Unity and then use them as UI elements there. I still have lots to learn with both approaches, but I'm kind of leaning towards the latter for the flexibility it provides in terms of visuals (although the animation part might not work out like I hope when these objects are handled by Unity). We'll see 😉
Next Up
With all the coding and technical learning out of the way for the night, I can turn my creativity back on and work on my character rig (still modelling the head at this stage).
Catch you soon,
