Summary Book Progress

Writing Mellow 😎

When people wonder why it takes so long to put together a 'simple' summary book of things that are already written out in full in another manuscript, they probably imagine it's basically a straight forward copy and paste type of deal.

So I thought I'd show you guys what it really looks like while doing this sort of work, while we enjoy a cool Ambient Music Lab track in the background 🙂

One Page At A Time

If we focus on the left side of the screenshots, we see the same page from the summary version of the manuscript derived from the first book. The process begins with a straightforward copy/paste, followed by an initial re-pagination and some basic editing of the text itself as an initial pass through the content. Later on when all the pages have been developed to this stage, there will be a thorough pass through to adjust for context.

Because there are actually multiple steps to the process, this one page took about 1.5 hours of actual mucking about to get to that stage, with the basic details completed. So one explanatory page done... 14 more to go... gradually 🙂
