Energised Break 😎
After a fair bit of coding done for the day, it's time for me to take a short break and fortunately, for the second time in two days, I've come across another new discovery today in the form of Method and this awesome set mixed by him from the Liquicity Summer Festival 2022. Hope you enjoy it with me while I catch us up real quick 🙂
UI & UI Interop Tuning
The capture shows seven highlighted lines of code which were previously included through ten different sections of this one method for retrieving assessment data from the database. By a simple shift of these lines to be outside the loop, 70 lines of code (and therefore 70 processing steps) were saved in this one method alone. I've been trying to take similar steps pretty much everywhere so as to optimise the UX.
Another step I'm taking is to move methods like these into new UI Interop classes within the class library so as to reduce the UI markup and code, as well as knowing that these and similar objects will be useful for the full versions of the MOOVPAD apps to be developed later.
And now, a well earned break to enjoy this latest vibe discovered just now, and then I might get the chance to do some more later tonight 🙂
