First, The Music 😎
Hopefully you are ready for some focus vibes with this awesome new release from Music Lab, and your day started and ended with a lil' bit epic along the way. The shot below is of an iconic Sydney landmark (the tall pointy one in the middle). Bonus point for anyone who knows what it's called 😉
Today I was reminded of so many times in my life when progress seemed so far.
Then Thoughts
If you ever feel frustrated by a short period of mental fog, or find yourself wishing that progress was easier, I might have a trick for you that might help. Like many people, I have often in life found that progress was hard, for any of a vast number of reasons. But I look at the examples set by great people in dark times, when life is hard or uncertain, and remind myself that they didn't have it easy either. Perhaps if they did, not all would have been as great as they are for having overcome what they did.
My parents always taught me to look to great examples in people. And I always included them. I was there, and can vouch for how hard they worked for their family. And so I ask myself in those difficult times:
What is it that I would gain by stopping, for how long, and what would be surrendered, and for how long?
What is not achieved today despite your efforts can still be achieved. Because you did not quit.
Unity Progress
Day after day, and with each new thing I learn about Unity, I realise that I need to learn more and get better. It's an amazing engine and I am glad I found it. Although my main projects (like work on the apps) doesn't involve work with Unity yet, I am hopeful that by the time I get through all the current things, I will be in a better place to handle Unity properly.
MOOVPAD Weekends
I've shifted all of my main coding work to the weekends now, because those tasks are best handled when you can sit down and focus properly on all the details. As anyone who writes any kind of code will tell you, short bursts of coding separated by longer periods of other tasks can leave you constantly needing to take time and re-focus before being able to make any real progress. So the weekends will be when I emphasise coding tasks, and use the time during weekdays to fine tune UI/UX ideas and work on all the writing.
Stay mega-tastically awesome,
