Stages... Don't Freak
Last night, I posted a trial where I imported one of the stages of the character's head (changed up a bit) into Unity as a test of how that weould work and if the mesh would have any problems accepting new materials. So I just quickly tried a colour for the skin, not intended to be realistic in any way. As you can see, the model from yesterday isn't the same as this one (just check the shape of the head). But yep, I think you know the reactions 😀
So I thought I'd start by explaining my learning process through the whole things. Every part of this kind of work is fresh and new for me. So something simple like putting a material on a mesh is something I want to try as soon as I can, to make sure it works and that I'm on the right track. And in terms of the actual modelling, the pictures above and right show the saved stages of the modelling process that I've kept copies of, in the same file, at different points in the process. Tonight I'll explain a little more about why I saved these.
Unity UI
There will also be some more work on build UI elements for the MOOVPAD project in Unity. The button on the left was just the first import test, but as you can imagine, there's a hell of alot more work to be done on the UI, and beyond just buttons. Thankfully all of that is progressing well, and we'll see more of that a bit later hopefully.
MOOVPAD Coding
The porting and quick adjustments to the code will also continue tonight, as well as some basic scripting in Unity for UI elements. I'll update you guys on progress with these too later in the evening. And as always, the vibes for super-chill 😉
