Hopefully we're all having an awesome Thursday, edging closer towards a nice, relaxing weekend.
To set the mood for our work ahead tonight, here's one of those cool Work Music Lab vibes while we take a look at what's being planned for my weekend 🙂
Last AM4 Upgrade
Even though I've only been using my current system for a little more than 6 months, I wanted to start setting up separate systems so that I can have both running properly before the end of the year. I also found some special deals on CPU's locally, and so I ordered an AMD 5900x. The 5950x was also on sale but I currently have no workloads that demand that many cores, so the 12 core (24 thread) unit is more than enough.
The 3900x in my current setup is working perfectly fine too, and the upgrade is more about taking advantage of the current generation before the launch of AM5 soon, meaning I can continue to use AM4 mobo's and DDR4 RAM for both systems until the new generation has all the issues sorted.
The order should hopefully arrive in time for the weekend, or I'll be building the new system next week some time. In the meantime, I have a bunch of work to do on MOOVPAD writing tasks, so that's what I'll be focused on tonight.
