CSR & Permaculture
While there are of course no absolute guarantees that the MOOVPAD project will succeed in achieving the goals set, I need to have plans in place that consider all the possibilities including the opportunities available for success of the project to the point where the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives can also be met. For this reason (as well as my own enjoyment) I have been learning and developing my skills in permaculture and the propagation of fruit, vegetables, herbs, root crops and roses.
The most recent flooding event wiped out so many of the container fruit trees that I am basically starting those again for the most part, and it also destroyed almost all of the herbs, ground covers and root crops. So in the picture to the left is the first stage of re-planting the herbs (there will be a total of 7 stages). Seen here are chillies, regular and garlic chives, mints, rosemary, parsley, lemon balm, thyme, oregano, and several other herb varieties. In total, I am replacing almost 40 total varieties, so plenty of work still to be done just on the herbs, let alone everything else.
I've been adding more time towards this permaculture part of the project and will be doing regular early morning sessions until everything is back up an running as it once was. The dream is to have the MOOVPAD CSR program deliver real beneifts to communities one day. Fingers crossed 🙂
