Learning How To Learn

I'm Forever A Student šŸ˜Ž

It's true: I am unashamedly going to be learning for the rest of my life. I'll explain why in a little bit, and how it changed my life from what it once was and could have easily become, to where it seems it may be heading now. But to do this right, we need an awesome vibe like this latest from 'the man from del monte' released a short while ago. Enjoy šŸ™‚

Azure Learnings

Just completed another module today on Azure VM's which looked at setting up a new VM and factors like where to locate it, resource provisioning, fail-over sets, managed vs the DIY unmanaged disks approach, and other concepts that are really important but really basic knowledge for professionals in that field. Still... live and learn. Comin' for ya Azure pro's  🤪🤣

Coding Progress Tonight

The plan for the rest of the night will be to make some more ongoing improvements to the class library (that's the collection of code objects or blocks that work behind the scenes) as well as the user interface screens. Work on these things is progressing pretty well when I consider all the other things happening at the same time. So... yep.

My Father Taught Me...

Actually, although he probably didn't realise it at the time, his lesson on how he used to learn stuff when he was younger ended up being one of the main reasons that my life changed so much. Don't get me wrong, I regret nothing from the lessons that I learned in my sport and the way those helped me 'progress' through life. I was just so absolutely thick... and genuinely believed I couldn't learn 'smart' stuff, and so gave it no attention. Turns out we can all learn, and keep learning all our lives, and anything we bloody well want to learn. It's somewhat disappointing that this important lesson, and different approaches for us to learn and attain new knowledge, are not consistently the first things that all our educational institutions instil in students that might be feeling thick like I was... good for nothing except the one thing.

I'm going to be including my approach to learning during the MOOVPAD courses I present in the future. I hope it benefits others the way it did me, and that they pick this stuff up as early as possible šŸ™‚

Stay awesome,

EMH
