Gradual Normalcy

Happy Vibes 😎

This is one of my favourite chill tracks from Music Lab. They always have great vibes. It's just that this one is a great trip down memory lane in a way.

Speaking of trips, I wanted to show you a couple of raw shots of the city from today before we get into things.

Trip "In Town" Today

It's funny how some phrases grow with you over the years. Going "into town" for me still means going to the city (Sydney), one of the largest and most populated cities in the country. But because it's an hour away from home by train, and the "home" area was mainly just open paddocks when our family got here, going to the city was just a normal thing for work or study. And for whatever reason, it was always referred to that way by my friends and I: going into town.

As you can see in the photos, the city after lockdowns is still mainly just about work so far, even though the restrictions are technically over now I think. For reference, the areas in the photos are usually bustling with huge numbers of people at all times of the work day. It seems that it might be a while before things truly get back to normal (assuming we don't have another extended lockdown again). The only 'positive' was that I was able to take daytime shots of an area I truly enjoy visiting and include some of the awesome buildings without all the people in the way.

So the plan for tonight is to get more progress happening with the custom user controls in the UI. This is about creating those nested windows forms I mentioned a while back now. The actual building of the controls is the easy part. The trick is building those controls/forms in a way that delivers the best possible UX (i.e. making things easy to use and powerful at the same time).

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this quick look at my "town" despite the wet weather. I certainly enjoyed the trip in today.

Catch you guys soon.

Stay awesome,

EMH
