Until I make my own videos...

Today I'm going to share some things about the MOOVPAD science as well as resources you might find useful for writing code, editing videos and publishing a book. Lets start with "What is PAPE?", because that's usually where people get stuck when they think about the MOOVPAD project. To the right is a poster presented at a conference in 2018 that shows some of the essential features of the PAPE algorithm framework (you can right-click and open in a new tab for a larger image). These equations help to assess exercise performance in a way that's more meaningful than just heart rate by itself.

Now of course this image doesn't show the full framework because there have been further extensions since that time. But you can already see how it might be time-consuming to do these calculations manually in a real-life setting. That's why I'm building the MOOVPAD app suite on different platforms. To do that, we need some code... which leads into...

Where C# comes in

There are many programming languages but I have been using C# for the main things I'm working on at the moment (although I also use Visual Basic and some scripting at times). This video to the left might be useful if you are completely new to the whole programming thing. Ok so now we have some science, and writing code to use it. What's next?

We have to publish the science

That's where publishing the books comes in. Once you have a solid topic, and an app or other solution to help people apply your work, you then have to be able to explain your work clearly to your audience. I am using Adobe InDesign to prepare my book for publishing. While having the books is great, some people prefer visual learning. So we then add...

Video Tutorials

Just like the tutorials I've linked here, I am hoping to develop some video content to help people better visualise the science and how to use MOOVPAD to apply that science to meet their needs. See, now it all makes sense, right?

I know, smh 😉
