Book Progress

So Many Options

If you are like me and you're looking to self-publish any kind of book, you have lots of options besides just Amazon. To start with, check out how you can get an ISBN from your local registered authority (in Australia, it's Thorpe-Bowker). Once that's sorted, you can then consider your publishing options. While Amazon is one, there's also the option to work with a local printer that offers short run printing for books (and there are several good ones locally). A short run print is anything less than 1000 copies.  And you might be surprised at how cost-effective it can be when compared to just Amazon/Kindle. And by setting up your own site, you then have optional sales channels too. So rather than think your options are limited because you haven't heard of alternatives, now you know 😉

First (Signature) Edition

In my particular case, I will be starting with just English initially and then consider additional languages later. Although I can speak another language fluently (with a bit of an accent), my writing level is more like a primary schooler  🙂

In the future, I hope to work with professional translators and other publishers to make it possible to release additional languages. For now though, the English versions are keeping me busy enough as it is.

Speaking of which, the first part of the series is essentially complete, and work has started on the second. The decision was made to release multiple parts so that readers could choose which parts apply to their purposes, thereby helping to reduce overall cost to at least some potential buyers.

Stay awesome,
