Presenting Balanced Guidance
Last time, we looked at the importance of getting the heuristics (i.e. the estimation principals) and evaluation algorithms to be optimal. But what does this mean in the context of MOOVPAD apps when it comes to considering scientific evidence? Part of the role of clinicians and researchers generally is looking at a piece of evidence and deciding not just the accuracy of the information, but its significance, applicability and much more.
For example, when we look at an article published about a study, we usually need to also report on the 'level of evidence' presented. And there are a variety of factors that go into this evaluation. So the notion of using AI to collect, evaluate and then present evidence is in itself a significant challenge. Add to this the need to then present some sort of guidance that encompasses this information in a safe, balanced, effective and targeted/tailored way, based on individual cases and/or in-line with the practice of the professional users... tough.
Presenting It Effectively
The other side of this question may well be "once we have reached this guidance and evaluated what is informative and necessary, what's the best way to present this information to general MOOVPAD users and professionals in their relevant contexts?" Obviously those using the apps aren't going to be looking to read textbooks. And there will certainly be differences in the levels of experience between different MOOVPAD user groups, and their baseline understanding.
And so while I'm making progress with the AI learning as shown above, I'm also trying to develop strategy outlines for how all of these factors, and other essential considerations, can be accounted for in the MOOVPAD apps being developed over the next 12-18 months or so. What can be done with the initial releases? What needs to be developed later? And how?
