"Strikes" For IP Quarantine
We recently looked at some of the security features that MOOVPAD apps will be implementing to safeguard users (refer to the linked post on the left). In that discussion, I mentioned that MOOVPAD will have an in-house systems-management component to monitor traffic through the apps, and I'll be adding a new feature into that component to strengthen IP address quarantining and blocking capabilities.

The management system will include a strike-based feature whereby repeat offender IP addresses will initially be quarantined for different, escalating periods, before being added to the permanent blacklist. I realise that firewall systems do this already. But an incident happening to this site over the past 48 hours (still ongoing) made me realise that by adding the features into the MOOVPAD apps too, an extra layer of protection can be built-in as an emergency fall-back.
So I guess... thanks 🙂
Stay awesome,

HOW MOOVPAD IS BEING BUILT
For the overview of how MOOVPAD apps are being developed, the reasoning behind particular decisions during development, policies, and more in relation to all the technical things, please see the link to the left.
This will be an ongoing work in progress, and will always be linked to the bottom of each upcoming Blog post.
