230928 – Desktop UI Update

Chill Chill 😎

Hopefully you guys have been having a great week so far since we last caught up, and have plans for some weekend fun ahead. With a few focus days for me starting Saturday through Monday, I thought I'd take this opportunity to share some of the most recent progress while we enjoy this awesome vibe from Chill Music lab for the evening's work session 🙂

Desktop Primary UI Elements

In the screen capture to the left, we can see the difference between the new design language on the left-hand side and the old design concept seen on the right-hand side of the image. There are also some subtle changes being made along the way to the newer design, with things like the background "tablet" image losing the gradient (see larger image below).

This larger capture above shows the new design language being applied to the desktop app, with the basic UI elements like the main and tab menu controls already developed. It will be a while before I have more complex controls like the gauge from the MOOVPAD Web App ready for the desktop version. And there have also been some smaller surprise bugs. One of these is the behaviour of PNG images on the desktop UI being different to the web version (refer to the tab menu notification icon in the desktop window and you'll see the grey background instead of a transparent one). Some small changes may be needed, but at least most of the code will port over easily.

Hope to catch up again soon 🙂

Stay awesome,

EMH

HOW MOOVPAD IS BEING BUILT

For the overview of how MOOVPAD apps are being developed, the reasoning behind particular decisions during development, policies, links to the science and research at the core of MOOVPAD, and more in relation to all the technical things, please see the link to the left.

This will be an ongoing work in progress, and will always be linked to the bottom of each upcoming Blog post.
