230713 – Gauge Update Stage 1

Chill Work Ambience 😎

Last night was a good chance to work on some of the data retrieval aspects needed for the gauge, updating some of the methods used for other processes earlier. I also made some progress with the gauge itself, so let's enjoy this latest awesome release from Chill Music Lab while I catch us up 🙂

Design Elements & Next Stage

Moving from the design stage to the coding of the UI was not a major concern, as my workflow for this is now well organised and the transitions from design to implementation of the controls themselves run fairly smoothly. The larger screen capture below shows the dropdown list for the comparison mode selector, which is now fully functional with the necessary add-on methods also completed.

The only design concern I have at this stage is that when the dropdown list is expanded, the bottom item comes pretty close to the bottom margin of the UI tablet, which looks a bit strange to me, but I can work on the layout later. The next stage will be to continue developing the methods for presenting the right colour-coded gradations on the gauge (seen in the large screen capture as empty squares now because I've been working on these methods, so the clear gradations aren't showing up right now).

Plenty of work still to come, and looking forward to catching up again with more progress soon 🙂

Stay awesome,

EMH
