230710 – MetricsManager & MTMT

Progress 😎

Unlike more complex animations, the changing of images in response to changes in variable values should in theory be quite simple. And so far, it has been progressing relatively well considering it's my first real attempt at incorporating something like this into MOOVPAD apps. Why don't we enjoy this Chill Music Lab release while I catch us up real quick 🙂

Integrating New MetricsManager

Given that the MTMT is already handling the background tasks of managing updates to the UI for other tasks, I'm going to be integrating the new MetricsManager UI Interop object as one of the tasks managed by the MTMT, at least for now. Once a more complete set of animation features is required, I can then move the handling of the MetricsManager and UI updates into those new processes later.

This morning's session saw me setting up the necessary methods to clear the gauge seen in the screen captures here. And since I developed the methods needed to evaluate the necessary values to display through the gauge earlier on in the project, the next few days will see me focus on setting the necessary gradation image changes to be updated in real time as the user completes their MOOV. Keep in mind that at some stage later, these changes in MOOV variables may be detected through wearables and exercise equipment, but more on that later as progress continues 🙂

Stay awesome,

EMH

HOW MOOVPAD IS BEING BUILT

For the overview of how MOOVPAD apps are being developed, the reasoning behind particular decisions during development, policies, links to the science and research at the core of MOOVPAD, and more in relation to all the technical things, please see the link to the left.

This will be an ongoing work in progress, and will always be linked to the bottom of each upcoming Blog post.
